Italian trains arrive at the port of Pecém
The first two trains that shall operate on the South Line of the Fortaleza Metro System were offloaded at the port of Pecém (CE) last Sunday (22nd). In all, there shall be 20 trains which were constructed by Italian firm Ansaldo Breda, at a total cost of R$ 240 million.
Salvador Metro trains are already on the rails
The coaches of the six trains used on the Salvador metro system started to be placed on the rails last Friday (20th). The expectation of Salvador City Hall is that the work of installation of the equipment on the tracks should take one week.
São Paulo Metro installs gap reducers on the platforms
Made of yellow polyurethane, the reducers are fixed and have been installed on the platforms in Sé Station, on Line 1 (Blue Line), and Corinthians-Itaquera, on Line 3 (Red Line), to avoid accidents. The Metro Company is considering using such devices in other stations.
Scomi is qualified for the Manaus monorail
The Malaysian company has been qualified for the project along with CR Almeida, Mendes Jr and Serveng, establishing the consortium Monotrilho Manaus. The decision can be appealed. The next phases are: analysis of technical proposal and analysis of price proposal.

For the first time, the railway industry, as also concessionaires and the Government, may participate in InnoTrans, which shall be held between 21 and 24 September 2010, in Berlin, Germany. Some 30 companies have already confirmed that they shall be taking part. The Brazilian stand shall be number 121, in Pavilion 10.2, with a total area of 80m².
